I may be an Essex wedding photographer but I am lucky enough to be able to travel all over the country to photograph beautiful weddings. And I didn’t have to travel too far to capture Lizzie and David’s special day. A rustic barn wedding which took place at The Olde Bell in Hurley, Berkshire.
The Olde Bell is one of the oldest public houses in England and parts of the building date back nearly 900 years! It was originally a guest house for visitors to the nearby Benedictine Priory but over time it has been expanded. It now includes an award winning restaurant and more recently a stunning wedding venue!
The Venue – The Olde Bell, Berkshire
The grounds of the Olde Bell provide the perfect setting for a rustic barn wedding. Lizzie and David decided to decorate the venue themselves and made a lot of their decorations by hand. From David’s buttonhole made out of music paper and Lizzie’s paper flower bouquet down to the favours and table plan. The theme for their wedding centred around their shared love of music. They incorporated the musical theme in to so many different elements of their wedding. David’s speech was written on music paper, he had a music quote on the bottom of his shoes and they even had a brass band playing at their reception. A complete surprise to all of their wedding guests!
It’s little special touches like that that make every wedding I photograph completely different and as individual as my couples are. I love how you can have two weddings at exactly the same location but they will be so totally unique.
Here are a selection of images from Lizzie and David’s wedding. I hope you enjoy looking through them as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
Whether you’re planning a rustic barn wedding or something more modern, it will be amazing!
