Wedding Playlist | Dance Floor Fillers

Real Weddings, Wedding Tips

We all love a good boogie on the dance floor! But no-one wants to be “that” person dancing alone (unless you’ve had a few too many and by that point you’re already past caring!). It’s got to be the right kinda tune that everyone loves so you need an awesome wedding playlist! The kind you can sing along to without even thinking and just can’t resist tapping your toes to. Those are the sort of songs that will fill your dance floor all night long.

But having the right kinda playlist can be hard. We don’t all like the same music which isn’t necessarily a bad thing! But you do want songs that people will sing along to and songs that will get them dancing. So it’s a great idea to have a mixture of songs from different genres. A bit of cheese, some old time classics, the proper sing alongs and a few surprises chucked in for good measure. That way everyone will have a song they can’t resist dancing to and it will mean your dance floor stays full all night long!

I absolutely love being there for your evening reception! The dance floor antics when everyone lets their hair down and throws those out killer shapes that no-one knew they could do. It’s not to be missed and makes for awesome photos! I’ll even be there right with you, bringing out my best moves although my dancing is only marginally better than dad dancing. You have been warned!

But what wedding playlist songs will get your guests up and throwing those shapes on the dance floor?

It might be hard to admit but people love a classic and sometimes the cheesier your wedding playlist, the better! Think Chesney Hawks and Gloria Gaynor (sorry Gloria). You might not think adding Christina Agulera – Dirty to your wedding playlist is a smart move. Maybe the thought of seeing your Aunt Vera twerking away to Cardi B like her life depends on it is the thing you nightmares are made of. But just think of her face as you retell the tale (and show her the photos!) at your next family Christmas dinner! It will be priceless and totally worth it.
